What Decisions Are Holding You Back?

What Decisions are Holding You Back?

Car Driving at NightI was reading a Tony Robbins book the other day and I remembered the first time I had read it a few years back and what a difference his words made to my life.  Tony discussed how important decisions are in changing our lives for the better.  Back then I realized how right he was, that I had become stuck and I was afraid of making the necessary decisions to change my life.  I was sitting on the fence about many decisions and therefore I was stuck in a proverbial rut!

After that book, I took his advice on board and I made a definite decision to change the course of my life for the better no matter what it was going to take.  I had made mistakes in life and my mistakes had led me to be afraid of making decisions.  I was not looking at my mistakes and asking the right questions, such as “What can I learn from this experience? “ “How can I learn from this event and move forward?” “If this decision has not worked to my advantage, what can I change about the situation and move on?”  From that day on I have made decisions for better or worse, and instead of berating myself when things don’t go according to my plan, I analyze my results and re-adjust my blueprint until I achieve my desired goal!  And guess what? It really works!

Thomas Eddison said it clearly;
“I am not discouraged, for every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.”

So to make a change in your life I found that first you have to sit down and decide what you truly want.  What do you want from your life, do you want a family, do you want a successful career, do you want the perfect partner, do you want to have your own business and to make lots of money??  Maybe you want it all, whatever it is sit down and design the plan for your ideal life.  Design every area of your life, family, relationships, home, work and money.  Now once you have decided on what type of life you want, you need to start taking action daily toward your goals.  I love Jack Canfield’s analogy of the Car driving to a destination at night.  I really believe that once you start making committed decisions and you take action on these decisions your life will start to unfold before you just like Jack’s story below:

“Think of this. A car driving through the night, the headlights only go a hundred to two hundred feet forward. And you can make it all the way from California to New York driving, through the dark, because all you have to see is the next two hundred feet.

And that’s how life tends to unfold before us. And if we just trust that the next two hundred feet will unfold after that, and the next two hundred feet will unfold after that, your life will keep unfolding. And it will eventually get you to the destination of whatever it is you truly want, because you want it.”

– Jack Canfield “The Secret”

So identify the decisions that are holding you back.  Make your decision to change your life no matter what, and then take the necessary actions to bring you to the Destination that is the LIFE Of YOUR DREAMS!

To your success
