The Power of Focus To Achieve a Goal.

The Power of Focus to Achieve a Goal.

In order for you or me to achieve anything in our lives, we have to focus our mind toward what we want; it’s the law of attraction, right.  Without focus, we amble through our days being diverted this way and that by the river of life.  Without focus, it is very easy for negative thoughts and ideas to take hold in our minds and to spiral out of control, so that we begin to believe that we are not good enough or that we don’t deserve to achieve success.

To counteract this drifting that allows our negative thought patterns to take hold, I have found that it is necessary to have a clearly defined goal or goals that motivate us to take action.  Your goal can be a dream, I know many of mine are, but it’s important to make that goal/dream so compelling that it pulls you toward its realisation, by helping you to focus your mind on what you want.

The comedian Jim Carrey did just that.  Jim was on the Oprah Show and he told of how before he had achieved success he had written himself a cheque  for $10,000,000.00 for acting services and dated it for thanksgiving 1995.  He then folded the cheque and kept it in his wallet.   When Jim wrote that cheque he wasn’t the wealthy successful actor he is today, he was just an aspiring actor who wanted to make movies.  However, everyday he would drive his car up to Mulholland drive, park up and visualise his life as if he had already achieved his goal.  He said that although at that stage he hadn’t achieved it yet, doing this helped him to feel better and to believe that the dreams that he was visualising were possible for him.  Jim’s actions helped him to keep his mind focused on what he wanted.   Then just before thanksgiving 1995, he discovered that he was going to make 10 million dollars from the movie Dumb and Dumber, his visualisations had become his reality and the rest as they say, is history.

So if you have a goal or dream it is important that you write it out on a piece of paper; write it in the present tense as if you have already achieved it.  For example; “I am so happy and grateful now that it is December 2016 and I am living in my dream House, with my wonderful family and enjoying a spectacular Christmas together.”

Whatever your dream or goal is, doing this will help you focus your mind toward its realisation.  Along with this visualise what it will be like to achieve your goal at least once a day, for best results do this two to three times a day.  The more often that you can visualise your goal, the more it will impress upon your subconscious mind that your goal is possible for you, and when the focus of your subconscious mind is on board your goal will become reality for you.  Don’t just take my word for it, watch the video and see what Jim Carrey and Oprah have to say.

To Your Success
