Are You Asking Yourself the Right Questions for Success?

Thomas Edison QuoteAre You Asking Yourself the Right Questions for Success?

This is a very good question, and it is one that you should definitely ask yourself regularly.  It is said that “Failure is not the falling down but the staying down.”  So what makes you successful or not as the case may be?

Well when I read or listen to the great Tony Robbins, his answer to this is that Successful People ask themselves Better Questions!  Yes that’s right you heard me correctly, when you ask yourself better questions this can be the difference between your success or failure.  For example if you fail at something and you say to yourself, “Why do I always fail?”  or “ Why do I always get it wrong?”, I am sure you can already see how these type of questions are not setting you up for success.  In fact talking to yourself in this manner is sure to set you up for more failures in the future.

So what are the right questions and how can you begin using them to your advantage from this day forward.  Well the firstly the next time you don’t get it right first time, ask yourself “What went wrong?”, “How can I improve on the first time?” , “What steps do I need to take to bring me closer to my desired result?”.   These are examples of great questions, you see our brain is like a computer that is driven to provide solutions to our problems, we just need to ask it the correct questions so it can go to work and find the solution.

Some of the best minds in the modern world failed over and over again before they achieved success, for example Thomas Edison failed in his experiment to build the first electric light bulb more than 2,000 times.  Edison was asked how he felt about failing more than 2,000 times while trying to achieve his goal, but he replied that he had not failed, but that he had discovered 2,000 ways not to create an electric light bulb.  This was a man that clearly understood the best questions for success and in the end his persistence paid off when he successfully created the Electric Light Bulb in October of 1879.  What would have happened if he had given up after the first couple of experiments??

The point is that you don’t have to be Thomas Edison, you just have to ask yourself better questions and have a healthy sense of self belief and anything you can imagine will be possible for you, all you need to do is take action.  Remember the next time you have a problem or fail at something, try asking yourself, “How can I improve on this situation?”, and get your wonderful brain working, so that it goes in search of solutions to your problems.  Until next time, and always remember to enjoy the journey,

To your success,
