10 Tips on How to Be Happy.


how-to-be-happyWhen you want to be happy, you need to do everything you can do to make yourself a happy person. Everyone deserves happiness. We need to change our views and we have to learn how to approach life everyday differently. So the question is, are you ready to do what needs to be done to be happy? Are you ready to nurture your happiness so that it lasts a lifetime?

Here are 10 tips on how to be happy

1. Notice the Beauty around you.
We have the tendency to see a glass as half empty or half full. I am encouraging you to see your glass as half full. Notice the beauty around you, the blue sky, the birds singing, the sunshine, look for the positive things in your daily life. I promise that good things are always around us, we just have to take the time to notice and appreciate them.

2. Express gratitude.
Do you take the time to say thank you? How many times do you hear thank you in a day? If the numbers are low, start saying thank you more often. You will automatically get more thanks returned. Learn to appreciate yourself and those around you.

Don’t take things for granted. Connect with the people you love and express your gratefulness and appreciation for everything they have done for you. Everyone loves to be appreciated and it will bring happiness to both you and your loved ones.

3. Be kind to others.
Watching a simple act of kindness melts our hearts. It cheers up our minds. So, performing and engaging yourself in good deeds will bring you immense happiness and a sense of well-being. Random acts of kinds bring happiness to everyone involved whether you are on the giving or receiving end.

You can start by holding up the elevator for someone, giving a surprise hug to a friend in need or just holding open a door for someone who is struggling with parcels. Even such small gestures will cheer you up.

4. Spend time with your friends.
Enjoy good times with your friends, by going to a movie, catching up over a cup of coffee, or sharing a meal. These can all be great ways of enjoying your friends company. When we connect with people we love it can be a great source of happiness and joy in our lives.

5. Have a rest.
Life nowadays is very busy. We are often stressed out, exhausted and bored due to maintaining our fast paced routines. Make some time in your day to just sit and relax. Perhaps listen to some calming music at lunch, or just sit and close you eyes and meditate for 10-15 minutes, or relax in a hot bath in the evening. Whatever you choose as your method of relaxation make it a habit, as it will help you to rebalance your thoughts and energies enabling you to be more calm and happy.

6. Put on a happy face.
Sometimes you just need to put on a happy face and keep moving forward. Smiling and laughing, will make you feel better. Research has found that when you put on a smile, it sends a positive signal to the brain and that my friend helps you to feel happy.

By heading out into your day in a positive frame of mind, you will find that others around you will start interacting with you in a much happier way and you will begin to get smiles back which in turn will begin to make you happier.

7. Pursue your goals.
We should all have goals in life. Your goals are your own and working towards those goals and achieving them will make you a happier person.   A lot of unhappiness in life comes from not knowing what to do next, so clearly defining your goals and what things you want to accomplish with your life will help you take direction with your life and ultimately make you a happier person. Pursuing your goals will make you feel more motivated and enthusiastic.

8. Join a club, or other organization.
Joining a club or an organization can put you in touch with like-minded people and provide you an easy way to make new friends. We are always more happy when we are connecting and enjoying the company of others.

9. Pursue your hobbies.
Taking up a hobby and really getting involved in it can help take your mind off of anything that might be bothering you and is a great way to reward yourself at the end of a long day.  You will find your mind slowly becomes filled with thoughts about your hobby instead of your daily worries which in turn will make you happier person.

10. Learn to appreciate the good in other people.
By actively concentrating on other people’s good qualities instead of always noticing their faults you will find that you will build stronger happier relationships with the people in your life. Happier relationships makes for a happier you every time.

By implementing these tips you will begin to lead a happier and healthier life, and you will find that by being happier, you will attract more positive situations and happiness into your life, and you will truly enjoy living in the moment.
